How do you get friends on livejournal? where do you search?

myspace seems a lot more simplistic than livejournal, i have no idea how or where to search for friends.

How do you get friends on livejournal? where do you search?
On LiveJournal.com, there is a blue band of navagational links. On the most right side of this band, you can see a textbox with "Find" and a dropdown menu right next to it. If you're looking for people with similar interests, you select "Interests" from the dropdown menu. If you're looking for a specific user, you select "Site %26amp; User".





When you find somebody you would like to add, lets say somebody.livejournal.com, you would go to their profile. If there isn't a link on their LiveJournal page to their profile, you type somebody.livejournal.com/profile into your address bar (replacing somebody with the ID of the person you would like to add).





On their profile, you'll see a light blue rectangle with a row of square icons in it. The first icon to the left (which has a person with a blue shirt and a plus + sign beside it) is the icon you click to add this LiveJournal user to your friends list.
