Is Livejournal safe and secure with my personal information?

Is Livejournal safe? When I first sighned up, a window popped up saying that I am leaving a secure conection and may be going to an insecure connection and that any information I give out may be seen by someone. This information had my birthday, password, username, and email address. Did Livejournal give out ANY of my personal information that may be seen by other people? Will this mess up my computer without me knowing it? What should I do? It would be greatly appreciated if someone could help me (especially a Livejournal user)

LiveJournal isn't in the business of handing out people's personal information. At least they won't intentionally without your expressed permission.

You should be more worried about providing to much information about yourself in your blog or in any type of public profile.
Reply:Livejournal is not supposed to give out your personal info but some shady people who are very good with computers could access that information. However, a lot of people ignore that message. I have a livejournal account and I haven't had anything weird going on. Also, if you're signing up for accounts like livejournal, they don't really need to contact you or know your real name, address, telephone number, etc. So, I advise that if you sign up for accounts which aren't very important, don't give out your real info.
Reply:livejournal is just like myspace..there are risk with everything...you can get virus, and information can be seen
